Philanthropy across the Americas

Giving, liberally and consistently, to those who need it most.

The Carlyle Poindexter Charitable Foundation carries forward more than three decades of philanthropic commitment — supporting pediatric cancer research, hunger relief, educational access, and community welfare across the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and the United States.

Our Mission

We take seriously our responsibility to the sick, the less fortunate, and the communities that shape us — giving as liberally as possible, every month, every quarter, every year.

Where we focus our giving.

Every month, the Foundation disburses funds to carefully vetted causes across three core areas — where the need is most urgent and where consistent support changes outcomes.

01 — Children's Health
🎗️

Pediatric cancer & medical research

Ongoing support for leading cancer institutes and children's hospitals including Duke Cancer Institute, UNC Children's, San Jorge Children's Hospital, National Pediatric Cancer Foundation, and the National Children's Cancer Society.

02 — Hunger & Community
🍽️

Food security & family aid

Partnering with No Kid Hungry, regional food banks, Hábitat para la Humanidad, Techo para Mi País, Iniciativa Comunitaria de Puerto Rico, and grassroots community organizations fighting hunger and housing insecurity.

03 — Education & Youth
📖

Scholarships & youth development

Funding scholarship programs, language disorder clinics, Make-A-Wish chapters, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Scottish Rite RiteCare, and educational foundations that open doors for young people in need.

04 — Masonic Charities

Widows, orphans & the afflicted

The Foundation's founder, C. Constantin Poindexter, is a Scottish Rite and York Rite Freemason. We support Masonic charities devoted to caring for widows, raising orphans, and fighting childhood disease — including the Knights Templar Eye Foundation, Scottish Rite Charities, The Masonic Orphanage of North Carolina, and Whitestone Home for the Elderly.

The Founder's Philosophy

More than three decades of consistent, liberal giving.

For over thirty-one years, funds have been disbursed quarterly to vetted charitable organizations across the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and the United States — from children's cancer centers and food banks to language disorder clinics, Masonic charities, and community housing initiatives. The commitment is simple: give as generously as possible, to causes that are real, and do it without fanfare.

Join the mission
I take very seriously my personal and our larger corporate family's responsibility to the communities in which we are present. We owe a duty to our neighbor, especially the weaker and less fortunate members of our society. Every quarter, the Poindexter Group of Companies give as liberally as possible to laudable causes, which I match with personal funds. The Carlyle Poindexter Charitable Foundation operating documents guarantee funding in perpetuity, even beyond my lifetime.
